Crafty Monkey at Local Libraries with Eco themed Workshop!

We recently had the absolute pleasure of hosting three Eco themed mug painting workshops over the February half term at both Sawtry and Huntingdon libraries. Since good old Covid has hit the world, we haven't been able to get out and about as much as we used to so it feels great to be back delivering workshops and the like all around Cambridgeshire.

Here at Crafty Monkey we are big advocates of becoming more environmentally friendly by re-using packaging, bubble wrap and composting cardboard. We've hosted numerous Eco-themed workshops and competitions to raise awareness including our plate painting competition which took place in summer and was incredibly successful! These workshops and competitions are great at getting the kids to think about the issues at hand in an engaging and fun way. And not only the issues, but the solutions as well! Because there are so many things we can do from home to help the planet.

We had a great time talking all things Save the Planet with the children and they came up with some great ideas of things to paint on their mugs. We chatted all about keeping our local environment clean and tidy by putting our rubbish in bins and how we all do our bit at home to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! We had Rain Forest themed mugs with Orangutans, paintings of the Earth and plenty of bees which were oh so cute! As well as reminding us of their importance to nature! Once the mugs are fired and glazed the children can use their mugs to have their hot chocolate out of whilst sharing all the things they know about being kinder to the planet!

Keep an eye out for more Crafty Monkey workshops happening near you and if you're looking to host your own whether you're a school, scout group, library or the like then please feel free to get in touch by emailing enquiries@mycraftymonkey.com or calling us on 01480 219222.
