Information

A 3D paw cast is the kind of keepsake you'll treasure for years to come. Every pad, claw and bit of fur texture is preserved exactly as it is today. What's included in a 3D dog paw casting session? • We make a mould of your dog's paw at our St Neots studio using non toxic alginate, the same compound used to take casts of your teeth at the dentist • We use good quality stone plaster to make the cast and leave it to dry. • Professional finishing and mounting, either in a frame or on a plinth Can you cast my hand holding my dog's paw? Yes, and it's a popular option. How much does a 3D dog paw casting cost? From £125. The price depends on the size of your dog and whether you'd like a single paw or your hand holding their paw, and whether it's framed or mounted on a plinth. Please note framing depends on the size of your dog's paw. Will my dog be happy having a paw cast? Casting takes a little longer than a pawprint, so your dog needs to be well behaved and content to have their paw held by someone they've not met before. Please trim the hair between their pads before your session, and make sure vaccinations are up to date. We're all dog lovers here and we'll never push a dog that isn't enjoying it, so we do reserve the right not to go ahead if our team feels unsafe. Can you take a cast if my dog has passed away? Sadly not. A cast has to be taken from your dog in person. The one thing we can offer is a take out kit, so you can capture the prints yourself at home onto pottery. We'll explain you how to get the best print when you collect the kit, and we can tidy them up for you afterwards. What other dog paw print services do you offer? • Paw Prints on Pottery: your dog's print onto a ceramic piece you'll use or display, like a coaster, mug, bauble, pet bowl, plate or trinket dish • Paw Imprints: your dog's paws pressed into clay. After a drying period we fire, decorate, then clear glaze and fire again. Framed or unframed • Paw Outprints: we press the paws into clay to create a mould, then cast a raised pawprint in plaster, decorate it to your specification and present it framed with a plaque When will my paw cast be ready? Casts need to dry fully before we finish and mount them, so please allow up to 5 weeks. We'll email you when yours is ready to collect. If you want to go all out for the dog lover in your life, this is the one. Gift cards and gift vouchers are available too. Terms & Cancellation Policy

In addition to our general terms please be aware of the following terms before booking: 1. Your dog’s suitability Paw print sessions involve a team member gently holding your dog’s paw. By booking, you confirm your dog is well‑behaved, comfortable being handled by someone new, has no history of aggression, and that you’ve told us about anything relevant such as nervousness, sore paws, arthritis or health conditions. If you’re unsure how your dog will cope, please contact us before booking. 2. Health, vaccinations and preparation Dogs must be fully vaccinated and not unwell or recovering from sickness/diarrhoea in the last 48 hours. Please trim the hair between the paw pads before your session, bring your dog on a lead, keep them on the lead unless asked otherwise, and ensure they’ve been toileted before entering. Owners must clean up any accidents. 3. Our right to decline or stop a session We may stop or decline a session if your dog is distressed, frightened, aggressive, unsafe for our team, or not prepared as requested. If we stop a session, we’ll offer an alternative where possible, such as a take‑home kit. 4. Responsibility for your dog Your dog remains your responsibility throughout your visit. You must supervise them and keep them under proper control. You are liable for any injury or damage your dog causes to people, other dogs, property or equipment, in line with the Animals Act 1971. 5. What we can and cannot promise Paw prints are not an exact science and perfect results cannot be guaranteed. Small variations in colour, finish and placement are normal in handmade keepsakes. Clay and plaster may show natural texture or tone differences. If a piece fails in firing through no fault of yours, we will remake it free of charge. If you’re unhappy with your keepsake, please tell us at collection. 6. Making, firing and collection Pottery paw prints are usually ready in around 2 weeks. Clay imprints and plaster outprints take around 4–5 weeks. 3D casts may take up to 5 weeks. Times are estimates and depend on drying conditions. We’ll email you when your keepsake is ready and ask you to book a collection slot. Please collect within 6 months; after this we may not be able to store items.
