What can I expect from a pottery class at Crafty Monkey Studio? • Clay, tools and materials included • Step by step guidance, from sculpting your Highland cow to adding intricate details with pottery tools • Make and paint with our underglazes in the same session • After fully dry, we clear glaze and kiln fire your make • A relaxed, friendly atmosphere with small group sizes so everyone gets the support they need What pottery techniques will I learn in this class? Wedging, the pinch pot method, slip and scoring, sculpting, and how to use pottery tools to add texture and pattern, plus tips for painting and glazing your finished piece. Are Highland cow pottery workshops suitable for beginners? Whether you're a complete beginner or have some pottery experience, our workshops are designed to accommodate and inspire everyone. If you like being creative or fancy trying a new craft, come and dabble in the world of ceramics with us. Is this an adults pottery class? While we get mainly adults on this workshop, ages 8 and over can attend (under 10s need a paying, participating adult with them). When will my pottery cow be ready? Once fired, please allow 4 to 5 weeks before your Highland cow is ready to display at home. Spaces are limited, so book your spot online in advance.
Terms & Cancellation Policy
By proceeding with the booking, it is understood that all parties in the reservation have accepted these terms. Drying and Firing Process: Items need leaving with us to dry before we can fire them. We will email you when your piece is ready for collection. This process typically takes 4-5 weeks. Pottery Making Risks: Due to the nature of hand-building with clay, issues can arise during the making, drying, and firing processes that could affect your piece. By following our guidance, you can greatly minimise these risks. If problems do occur, we will attempt to fix them, but it may not be possible.
