Make a Tealight Holder Lantern
Light up your life with a handmade glow.
How to Make a Ceramic Lantern
Our "Tealight & Lantern", hands-on, beginner-friendly project is for those who love a cozy, "hygge" home. It's all about the magic of light and transforming a simple clay structure into a glowing centerpiece that sets the mood for any room.
On your chosen clay class, you'll be taught the slab-building technique and given step-by-step instructions to create your lantern. Once your slab is rolled out, we’ll guide you through the "cut-out" phase. You’ll learn how to use piercing tools and our cutters to cut out bits that allow light to shine out of yoru lantern.. You can also use our large range of stamps to impress into the clay to give it texture and patterns or use our cutters to attach shapes to your piece for a 3D effect.
After cutting out and decorating your slab, you'll learn how to gently join and attach it to the base.
Paint Your Glow
Once your lantern is sculpted and pierced, you’ll use our vibrant underglaze paints to add the finishing touches. Keep it a classic natural for a clean look, or use rich colors to make your patterns pop when the candle is lit.
