How to Make an Animal Pot or Planter
Design and build your very own animal planter from scratch - think foxy foxes, chunky cows, cheeky sloths, or frogs with serious attitude. Whatever your creative brain fancies, we’ll help you bring it to life in raw clay.
This is a hands-on, beginner-friendly class. You'll be given step-by-step instructions to create a pot using the slab method, this forms the base for your project. Once your foundation is ready, we’ll provide guidance on how to sculpt, tweak, and transform your clay into a characterful animal planter, while others on your class may be crafting mugs or lanterns.
Paint in the Same Class
Once your animal is built, it’s time to add a splash of personality with our vibrant underglaze paints. Once we've given you instruction, we'll leave you to decorate your planter or pot exactly how you want.
What Core Pottery Class Should I Book?
You can make this project by booking onto either our Slab Pot or Intro to Hand-Building Pottery Class. Others on the class may be making other projects but most will start with the same slab pot as the foundation structure.

During this class, some participants may be working on body-positive projects, such as "Boob Pots." We leave it to the discretion of parents/guardians to decide if this environment is appropriate for their children.
