How to Make a Botanical Pot
Our Botanical Planter or lantern clay project is perfect for nature lovers and plant parents who want a vessel as beautiful as the succulants inside it or to pop a tealight in to bring a warm glow into your home. Move over mass-produced plastic, this session is all about crafting a textured, earthy vessel to display in your home.
You'll be taught the slab-building technique and given step-by-step instructions to build the foundation of your planter. Once your slab of clay has been rolled out, it's time for the botanical magic.
Personalise Your Pot

Impressions: You can press our botanical stamps or feel free to bring real leaves or flowers, into clay to create impressions
Carving Tools: Etch delicate floral patterns into clay
Emboss: Cut out shapes using our clay cutters and fix them onto your pot to give a 3D effect
Cut Outs: Use our clay cutters to cut out leaves, flowers and other shapes - perfect for the light to shine our if making a lantern.
Paint Your Nature
Once your planter is textured and joined to form a pot, you’ll use our vibrant underglaze paints to highlight your designs. Use earthy greens and browns for a realistic look, or go bold with bright floral pops, the choice is yours!
