  • Baby Hand & Foot Imprints & Outprints

Book a session to capture your baby or toddler's tiny hands and feet in a keepsake you'll want on display. What's the difference between an imprint and outprint? • Clay imprints are pressed into the clay, giving a soft, sunken print • Plaster outprints are raised, giving two dimensional prints How much do baby imprints and outprints cost? • Framed: £75 • Unframed: £55 (imprints only) What happens in the session? Your 20 minute session covers taking the hand and foot impressions in clay and choosing your colours and finishes. If you'd also like prints on pottery while you're here, just say so on the booking form. We'll help with the prints, and you're welcome to stay longer if you want to decorate the pottery prints yourself. Who are these baby keepsakes suitable for? Babies from a few weeks old, toddlers, and older children too. Sibling keepsakes work beautifully, and they make lovely gifts for grandparents, godparents and christenings. When will my keepsakes be ready? Clay imprints and plaster outprints need to dry fully before we can process and finish them, so please allow 4 to 5 weeks. We'll email you with a link to book a pick up slot when they're ready. Preserve those tiny toes and chubby fingers and book an imprint or outprint session at Crafty Monkey Studio, St Neots.

  • Baby Hand & Footprint Pottery (6+ Mums)

Book this session for groups of 6 or more mums with babies or toddlers who want beautiful hand, foot or even bum prints on pottery. It's a lovely way to make keepsakes while catching up with your NCT group or baby club friends. We take the prints for you, then you can decorate your items or we can decorate for an extra fee. Getting baby prints isn't an exact science. Little ones wriggle and curl their toes, and we can't promise a perfect print every time, but we'll work with your baby on the day to get the best we possibly can. How much does a group baby print session cost? • £4.50 Studio fee, plus the price of the pottery items • Decoration by us starts at £3.50 per item and depends on the level of detail How should we prepare? • Have a look at our online shop and baby print gallery beforehand so everyone knows roughly what they want and what it costs • Stock varies in busy periods, so pick a backup or two • Slings work better than prams and buggies, as our space is limited How does the session run? For groups larger than 7 we suggest staggered arrivals, for example the first four at the start and the rest 15-30 minutes later, so nobody is waiting around. Prints are taken one at a time by one or two of our team, so a little patience helps. We take prints first for anyone decorating their own items, so they have plenty of painting time. When will our pottery be ready? Usually around 2 weeks, longer in busy periods or if we're decorating for you. We'll email when everything's ready, and one person can collect for the whole group. • 3D Paw Print Casting

A 3D paw cast is the kind of keepsake you'll treasure for years to come. Every pad, claw and bit of fur texture is preserved exactly as it is today. What's included in a 3D dog paw casting session? • We make a mould of your dog's paw at our St Neots studio using non toxic alginate, the same compound used to take casts of your teeth at the dentist • We use good quality stone plaster to make the cast and leave it to dry. • Professional finishing and mounting, either in a frame or on a plinth Can you cast my hand holding my dog's paw? Yes, and it's a popular option. How much does a 3D dog paw casting cost? From £125. The price depends on the size of your dog and whether you'd like a single paw or your hand holding their paw, and whether it's framed or mounted on a plinth. Please note framing depends on the size of your dog's paw. Will my dog be happy having a paw cast? Casting takes a little longer than a pawprint, so your dog needs to be well behaved and content to have their paw held by someone they've not met before. Please trim the hair between their pads before your session, and make sure vaccinations are up to date. We're all dog lovers here and we'll never push a dog that isn't enjoying it, so we do reserve the right not to go ahead if our team feels unsafe. Can you take a cast if my dog has passed away? Sadly not. A cast has to be taken from your dog in person. The one thing we can offer is a take out kit, so you can capture the prints yourself at home onto pottery. We'll explain you how to get the best print when you collect the kit, and we can tidy them up for you afterwards. What other dog paw print services do you offer? • Paw Prints on Pottery: your dog's print onto a ceramic piece you'll use or display, like a coaster, mug, bauble, pet bowl, plate or trinket dish • Paw Imprints: your dog's paws pressed into clay. After a drying period we fire, decorate, then clear glaze and fire again. Framed or unframed • Paw Outprints: we press the paws into clay to create a mould, then cast a raised pawprint in plaster, decorate it to your specification and present it framed with a plaque When will my paw cast be ready? Casts need to dry fully before we finish and mount them, so please allow up to 5 weeks. We'll email you when yours is ready to collect. If you want to go all out for the dog lover in your life, this is the one. Gift cards and gift vouchers are available too.
