We're excited to announce: Our pottery painting for adults evenings, that blend creativity, relaxation, and fun, have received a makeover and we've rebranded them: Sip and Paint Pottery Nights
Now to unveil our new logo.... Drum roll please....Ta-daaaaaa!
Why change the name to 'Sip and Paint Pottery Nights'?
Historically, people perceived Crafty Monkey Pottery Studio as a venue reserved for baby prints or kids even though we've always tried to encourage all ages and abilities. This may have partly been down to our old website, branding and marketing that perhaps was geared towards these groups but also people's misconceived perception that pottery painting studios and ceramic cafes were reserved for kids or 'arty types'.
However, the appeal of pottery painting for adults has increased massively in popularity over recent years, helped greatly by the pandemic and trending TikTok's. More adults are tapping into the fun and therapeutic benefits pottery and pottery painting provide.
We have also been changing the Crafty Monkey branding over time, so it hopefully is attractive to all ages. A difficult task when we have such wide and varied customer groups, however as our sip and paint nights are aimed at adults (although age 14+ can attend), it makes it easier to change the branding for these nights.
We felt fresh branding with new name, aimed towards adults, with an emphasis on the social side of pottery, will help communicate that pottery painting is not just a niche for avid artists and children but a great social and fun activity you can do on your own, as a date night idea or with friends whether good at art or not!
We decided to rebrand as times are changing and so we wanted to market our diy pottery painting sessions for adults as a fun night out and an alternative to going down the pub or to a restaurant on a 'Friday Night Out'
Why 'Sip and Paint Pottery Nights'?
We've been toying over changing the name of our adult evenings for a couple of years but never really settled on a name. The other names in the running, and one's used by other ceramic cafes are:
Paint Party
Prosecco and Paint
Booze and Brushes
Social Pottery
Paint and Sip Party
Pinot and Paint
Sip n Stroke
A lot are related to drinking alcohol and we didn't want to alienate people who perhaps don't drink alcohol. Our Sip and Paint Pottery Nights are more about enjoying the pottery painting than downing sambucca's so decided on Sip and Paint as there's no reference to the type of drink you sip on.
Our paint and sip nights are about creativity and relaxation. Making pottery or Painting it, is a perfect activity for an alternative girls night out, date night or something you can do if solo.
We think the new name captures the essence of what these evenings are all about: combining the fun of pottery painting or diy hand building with clay, with the enjoyment of sipping your favourite drinks. It's whatever takes your fancy be it alcoholic or not, just don't make the easy mistake of dipping your paintbrush in your drink! Sounds silly we know, but you'll be surprised at how many people go to do it!
Is there anything new about your adults pottery painting nights or it just the name of the night that has changed?
It's not just the name we've changed but we've added new things into the mix such as event nights, holding some on a Friday night and adding in clay sessions.
