FAQ's

Can I stay with my child during the workshop?

Unfortunately, due to space, we cannot allow you to stay with your child unless you have booked to do the workshop as well. Should we need to contact you during the workshop for any reason, we will contact you at the number provided on this booking.

Can they take their monster home the same day?

After crafting their clay monsters, they'll need to be left with us to dry and be fired before they'll be ready to collect.

How long does it take before we can collect the clay monsters?

It can take around 1-3 weeks to dry out before we are able to put through the kiln so please allow 2-4 weeks.  We will email you once ready.

Will the monsters be painted during the same session?

If time allows the monsters will be painted with underglaze during the same making session.  If time doesn't allow we will provide either acrylic paints or underglazes so they can be painted after the bisque firing.

If the monster hasn't been painted during the workshop,  either acrylic or underglaze colours can be chosen by the attendee and taken home on the day ready for when the piece can be collected.  If opting for underglazes the piece needs to be returned to us once painted for a glaze firing.  Please note that acrylic glaze can stain clothing and soft furnishings so care is needed when painting with these at home.

Do I need to bring an apron?

We recommend attendees wear old clothes and/or bring an apron as clay can be messy.  However, it will wash easily out of clothes.
