See our latest news, offerings and events What we offer Crafty Monkey is a Pottery Painting, Build a Bear and Craft studio based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire - near the border to Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. We offer Pottery Painting for all ages young and old with our Adults Evenings becoming more popular than ever. We are the longest running Pottery Painting Studio in Cambridgeshire, being open since 2010! Our broad range of Pottery is something our customers love and comment on as being one of the best things about Crafty Monkey. In addition to pottery painting we also offer pottery classes where you can get your hands on clay and other art and craft workshops. fun activities for children including our Build a Bear experiences, a range of workshops which usually run during the school holidays and kid's parties. We also specialise in creating unique and personal baby print keepsakes in the form of hand, foot and bum prints on Pottery, Imprints & Outprints and Silverprint Jewellery. We will also be introducing 3D castings to this list soon. Our baby print keepsakes mean you can treasure their little hands and feet forever, even when they're all grown up. Our Silverprint can also be used to immortalise a kiss, your child's first drawing, your dog's pawprint, or if someone has recently passed, we can make a lasting keepsake of their handprint. We love getting involved with our local St Neots community. We often run free competitions with great prizes such as our Queen's Platinum Jubilee competition which we ran with St Neots Town Council. We also frequently get involved with community projects such as the tile mural in the library and a mug painting contest with our friends at Black Cat Radio. ​ Pottery Painting itself has become very popular and we've seen it take off as a fun group activity for Hen Parties, Corporate Team Building sessions, Birthday Parties, Scout Groups, School Groups and more. We often find ourselves packing all of our Painting kit and traveling somewhere new! CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS Trying to buy that perfect Christmas present for people who have everything? Take away the pain of pounding busy high street stores with long queues and relax in the Crafty Monkey studio while painting truely unique gifts for Christmas. We have a wide range of pottery including all sorts of Christmas ornaments, baubles, plates, etc which make perfect gifts for Christmas. Or if you have children then even better, kill two birds with one stone. Entertain the children while they paint grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends homemade Christmas gifts which will be well received. We have traditional pottery - mugs, plates, bowls etc but also lots of lovely Christmas decorations and tree ornaments which children love to paint and once glazed and fired they look fabulous hanging from the Christmas tree. Something which you can keep forever. ​ Or perhaps it's your baby's first Christmas, a hand or footprint on Christmas baubles are a must and extremely popular. What's more you can turn the hand or footprint into all sorts of Christmas designs such as angels, Christmas trees, reindeer, turkey, penguins, robins, santa...the list is endless. And don't forgot baby bum print can be made into things such as a Christmas Pudding - that's not a typo! Remember though to book in advance and leave enough time for items to be glazed and fired. The lead up to Christmas is extremely busy. ADULT PARTIES Looking for something different to do for a special landmark birthday, a retirement, reunion, WI group or maybe you have a group of friends and want try something new. Crafty Monkey is a great place to celebrate any occasion with a pottery painting session. Whatever the occasion we would love to discuss with you how we can provide a solution for your needs! ​ Our party area seats 10 - 12 at a push and studio around 26 so we have a total capacity of 38. Email us if your party is larger than 12 as you may need to book the studio exclusively or hold it outside our opening hours or on a Sunday (we are open every other Sunday however). We can also open in the evenings for parties. Or perhaps you would prefer holding your party at your home or venue of choice. We also offer take out party kits that work well. ​ Price £4.50 per painter plus the cost of the item (items start at £6 with most costing between £10-20) For an additonal fee of £20 per hour, we can open outside our opening hours for party bookings. This is usually subject to a minimum of 2 hours however if you wanted to book a party starting within our opening hours and it went for an hour past opening hours then only the hour would be charged. ​ We can also put together a Take Out Party kit if you would prefer to hold your party at home or at another venue! Current Competitions & Giveaways St Neots town council are running an exciting new art competition to celebrate the Kings Coronation! Enter with a chance to win a free craft experience to recreate your artwork on pottery here at Crafty Monkey! All you have to do is create a Royal Coronation themed artwork of His Majesty The King. It's a great activity that suits all ages and abilities, from a young bridesmaid to the mother-in-law to be. 3D Baby Casting We are now offering beautiful 3D castings of your baby's tiny hands and feet. Our 3D casts pick up high levels of detail, meaning you'll be able to see all of their little lines and creases. All casts come framed with an engraved name plaque. Price for hand and foot in 10x12" Frame - £150 We have a broad range of frames and the casts can be done in a colour of your choice. Book your Session Our casting can be done from Age 0 and we currently have a maximum age of 24 months. The casting process is completely safe and the materials used are designed specifically for use on skin. The process requires us to hold your baby's hand/foot in a material called alginate which starts off as a liquid and sets within a couple of minutes to a rubber-like consistency. The set alginate is soft so baby's hand/foot can be gently removed and is also made from natural ingredients. ​ Once the alginate mould is made we complete the casting, decorating and framing process which can take about 5 weeks as the casts have to dry fully before decorating. We then email to let you know your beautiful casts are ready to collect!

PRICE LIST POTTERY PAINTING Cost of the item plus a £4.50 studio fee per painter. We have hundreds of items of pottery and it would be impossible to list them all but here's a few prices to give you a rough idea or pop over to our online shop to see the prices of items: ​ Coasters, heart hangers from £7 Mugs (we have a large selection) from £12 Side plates from £14 Dinner plates from £20 Photo frames from £14 Plant pots from £20 Vases from £20 Baubles from £9 Money banks from £15 Figurines roughly between £6- £18 - we have a massive selection of popular items including fairies, dinosaurs, mermaids, unicorns, princesses, cars, cats, dogs and everything in between! POTTERY CLASSES Our pottery classes where you can get your hands on clay tend to be around £35 per person plus a £4.50 studio fee if the project requires you to come back and paint your piece. BUILD A BEAR Our small bear experience is £16, large bear experience is £21 with outfits for small bears £11, large bears £13 and shoes for large bears are £6. HAND, FOOT AND BUM PRINTS The price is the same as pottery painting if you are going to decorate the pieces after we have done the prints. If you want us to decorate then there is a fee starting at £3 per piece for simple writing and decoration. You can get an idea of our decorating fee for different designs here . IMPRINTS & OUTPRINTS Imprints and outprints are £75 framed or £55 for unframed imprints. Please note we do not do unframed outprints. These take 4-5 weeks. 3D BABY CASTS Our framed 3d baby castings are £150 and take 4-6 weeks. SILVERPRINT JEWELLERY See our silverprint catalogue for prices. PARTIES Kids parties start from £15 a head for pottery and build a bear. This is based on a minimum number of 8 attendees. ​ Adults parties/hen do's etc are the price of the pottery plus the £4.50 studio fee. ​ Opening fee: If your party is outside our opening hours then there is a £40 opening charge for the first two hours then £10 per half hour thereafter. When they do we look for people who are looking to be with us long term as, although not difficult, the job can take a long time to learn. ​ However, our junior weekend and casual staff vacancies tend to come up more often as our staff leave school and move away for University.
